The busy summer keeps rolling! Here’s a few from Jessica and Jason’s engagement session. We had to dodge the summer thunderstorms as we explored around Warwick but we still had a great time!

Kellie and Mike

Dodging both the rain and the latest heat wave I had the pleasure to get out and shoot Kellie and Mike’s engagement session. We decided to head down to West Point to take a look around at the Thayer Hotel because that is where they will be getting married this December. After a quick look around at where the festivities would be held we headed out on a quick little tour of West Point. If you have never been, I highly recommend it because both the history and scenery are spectacular and we had a great time with their session.
Thank again Kellie and Mike, we’ll see you guys soon!

Ashley and Walter’s engagement

A couple of weeks ago I met up with Ashley and Walter and we spent some time around Port Jervis shooting their engagement session. As much as I enjoy the excitement and emotions that I get to capture at weddings, engagement sessions are also incredibly fun for me. It’s a chance to get to know the couple who have entrusted me with photographing one of the most important days in their lives. That’s a huge responsibility and the better I know my clients, the better chance we have to make photographs that are beyond the ordinary. All the little stories about how they met and things that they enjoy doing add up to me being able to showcase them as a couple so much better than if I was meeting them for the first time on the day of their wedding and that can go a long way toward making the photographs of their wedding just a little bit more special. If you are looking for a photographer and want to find out more about why we feel this way, drop us a line.
Thanks again Ashley and Walter, see you guys real soon!
Erin and Anthony – The engagement session

We recently finished shot an engagement session for Erin and Anthony. These two were a great to shoot and we had a wonderful afternoon. Getting to know my clients better is one of the reasons I enjoy these engagement sessions, you get to find out their story and what makes them unique as individuals and how they fit together as a couple.
The engagement session also helps to put everyone at ease so on the wedding day you aren’t meeting your photographer for the first time. The wedding day is a busy and sometimes stressful day and do you really be wanting to be making introductions with your photographer just minutes ahead of when they will be documenting your memories of a lifetime? The engagement session is a chance for us to work together and get to know each other so on your wedding day we are sharing it with you not only as your photographer, but hopefully also as a trusted friend. We believe it is an honor to be chosen to photograph your wedding and we understand the trust you place in us, these session help us to bring out the best pictures that we can and that is why we are firm believers in doing an engagement session.
For instance we did this session in Newburgh and in the course of walking around we found ourselves near 26 Front Street, the now closed nightclub on the Newburgh waterfront. Well it turns out that is where Erin and Anthony first met so it of course warranted a shot! It’s learning about small details like that that makes our clients special to us. We want to know your story and help you tell it in the best way that we can.
Erin and Anthony, you guys were a blast and I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did, thank you!

Raquel and Nicholas

Here’s just a couple of quick shots from a recent engagement session we did. After a few weeks of trying to get the weather to cooperate Raquel, Nicholas and I decided that we were just going to to brave the elements and have some fun and do their engagement session. It was a beautiful day…except for the wind! The wind wasn’t our friend but we managed to make it work as we toured around downtown Middletown and did some shooting and got to know each other a little bit better.
Couples who have worked with me knows how important I feel that an engagement session is. It is a chance to get to know each other so that on your wedding day it isn’t the first time you have had me pointing a camera at you. As a wedding photographer we are asking for special access on a very important day and it is much easier if we have developed a strong relationship with our clients and sessions like this go a long way toward that goal.
Thanks again Raquel and Nicholas!
Janine and Matt’s blustery day!*

It took a while, but schedules and the weather finally cooperated (sort of) and we were able to spend some time shooting Janine and Matt’s engagement session. Janine was determined not to let the howling wind get the best of us so we pulled on some warm clothes and headed out! As a photographer you spend a lot of time trying to “find the light” and sometimes that can really be a challenge. Couple that with trying to find a place that your client doesn’t get whisked away and it becomes really fun!

Thanks for hanging in there and making the most of the blustery day!

*Yes it is a thinly veiled Winne the Pooh reference, but it sure fit the circumstances!

Last week I was up in Canada working with a colleague and I had the opportunity to help shoot one of the new fusion engagement sessions. These are a blast to do for both us and the couples. It’s amazing some of the things you can dig up! LOL We even had to leave a few stories on the cutting room floor! Too hot!
Thanks again Amy and Kyle, you guys were great!
A NYC Engagement Session

Recently I had the opportunity to meet up with a friend of mine, Jason Groupp, who is a fantastic wedding photographer in NYC. Jason was doing an engagement session for his clients Penina and Benji and asked if I wanted to tag along. Shooting in the city is always fun, plus it was a chance for me to try out some new gear that I recently acquired while catching up with a friend, how could I pass up a trifecta like that?!
We had a great time shooting around New York, we hit the subway where Benji first told Penina he loved her, then off to some of the places that are special to them, such as Bryant Park and Grand Central Station. I’ll post a few of my shots here and at the end I will link to a little video Jason made for Penina and Benji.

What a great day! A little chilly, but beautiful nonetheless!

Thanks again Jason, Penina and Benji, I had a blast!
