A Night of Laughs

November 30, 2008 by Peter ·

It has been kind of hectic around here with the upcoming holidays and some other events going on so it was a nice surprise when a friend of mine asked if I would be interested in going to Atlantic City to see a comedy show. The chance to get away for a night and enjoy some laughs with friends sounded good and Brian promised I would enjoy it. Boy was he ever right! Brian is kind of a car guy and so was the comedian, Jay Leno! I have mentioned Brian before, he hooked me up with my Honda tractor and snowblower, which will be needed soon again!  If you need some Honda auto or outdoor equipment, give Brian a call at Formula H and tell him Pete sent you!

Back to the story… What an awesome surprise it was when Brian told me that we would be going to see Jay and not only that, but to meet him! You see, Brian has done some work with Jay on his car collection in the past, so he and Jay get together from time to time. And on this visit Jay was kind enough to extend the offer that Brian should bring some friends and then we could all have the opportunity to meet him after the show. And that is a pretty cool thing for as busy a guy as Jay is.

Anyway, long story short, we really enjoyed Jay’s show and then got the chance to go back and meet and talk with Jay afterward. It was a really fun experience and I can’t thank both Brian and Jay enough for a much needed break!

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 27, 2008 by Peter ·

I really hope that everyone out there had a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving. I took the day to relax a bit and get out and do a bit of hiking with my dogs. Along the way I grabbed a friend of mine who brought one of her dogs along and we hit one of the area’s state parks. It was a perfect day for hiking and watching the dogs run and play just made it that much better.

Sometimes it’s good to just put things aside for a few hours and get out and enjoy a bit of nature!

A big “Thank You!”

November 25, 2008 by Peter ·

I would like to say thanks to Tom and Rick and all the guys in the band Tom Vella and the Wayside. A while back I was down in Hoboken and happened to catch their show and I was blown away by their music. They have a little bit of everything to offer when it comes to styles, but one song in particular really caught my attention. At that time I had just finished shooting Kim and Geoff’s engagement photos in Hoboken and when I heard “The One” being played I knew that I wanted to use that song for the slide show I was putting together for Kim and Geoff. Since Geoff was living in Hoboken at the time and the we shot some engagement photos there it just seemed right.

Now, as most of the folks that follow my blog know I am kind of a stickler when it comes to my copyright and it would have been hypocritical to say the least to just use their song without their permission so I took a chance and reached out to them hoping that we could work out something so that I would be able to use their music. Long story short, we reached an agreement and I am able to use their music and you will find some of it here if you do some looking around. Again, one of the benefits of working with local people is that you can meet face to face and really work through things to get the results you would like. I was able to do that and I am grateful for the opportunity to highlight another area artist.

Thanks again guys and I wish you all the best!

Welcome to the the new Blogsite!

November 19, 2008 by Peter ·

Hello everyone and welcome! This post will be getting things kicked off here on the new blogsite and I am looking forward to not having to have to maintain two separate sites, one for the information and one for the blog. Now we are all rolled into one. What this means is that it will take less clicks for you folks to find your way around and get the information that you need when making your decisions for a photographer.

The blog is a place where I like to share not only images of the work I have done, but personal images and thoughts. When you are choosing a phtographer it is important that you find one that you are comfortable with and whose style you enjoy. And to that end a blog goes a long way. It’s a running commentary of what’s happeneing here, both in the busines and outside of that. I want my clients to think of me as a friend and not just a photographer. This familiarity goes a long way to making great images, and that is what we are here for.

Alright, let’s get this posted and start a new chapter!

-Pete
